As Farfalla arrived with his knights and was introduced to Lord Hoth, Kiel went back to the battlefield to regain his composure and contemplate on the day's events. However, Charny's contemplation was interrupted by a Sith Lord who had survived Farfalla's attack. It was his former lover, Githany. The two exchanged quick words about their past, but Githany was eager for a fight. Brandishing a lightwhip, Githany ignored all of Charny's pleas with her to renounce her Dark Side ways; that she did not have to remain a slave to the Dark Side forever. However, Githany mocked Charny's words and even suggested that Charny still loved her.

Perhaps Githany was right; as she pressed her attack on Charny, he refused to engage her, and eventually lost his hand and lightsaber as Githany sliced it off with her lightwhip. Charny fell to his knees, ready to accept the fate Githany was about to choose when the young Tomcat appeared before the two. Apparently, the defeats the Jedi had suffered convinced Tomcat the Jedi were weak, stupid for not accepting the power the Dark Side offered. Deep within the Dark Side's grasp, Tomcat cut Charny down with his own lightsaber. The war between the Jedi and the Sith had now claimed the life of a great Jedi Knight, General Kiel Charny of Jedi Knight Lord Hoth's Army of Light. As Tomcat willfully joined the ranks of the Sith, Kiel Charny became one with the Force.
